Tips to Naturally Build your Immune System

The path to becoming less prone to illnesses is linked to one’s own immune system. The immune system is what is used to battle different illnesses and viruses as they are contracted into your body. A healthy immune system will fight off these germs, bacterial infections, and viruses, many times without you even experiencing symptoms of the illnesses they carry. A poorer quality immune system will be overrun by the influx of alien illnesses entering your body usually through the mouth or nose. There are several active tips you can take with you that will help you naturally build your immune system, though.

Drink More Water

Water is the fuel of life. With our bodies made up of more than 90% H2O, you need to take in a lot to balance out your health – 6 to 8 glasses is the recommended dosage for the normal active person. Water helps your body flush out foreign germs and bacteria by increasing the flow and production of urine. It also acts to keep us hydrated and protects our bodies from other physical woes, as well.

Sleep a Little Longer

While you are sleeping, your body is doing wonders to repair any weariness it might have from the previous day. Muscles get charged with nitrogen, unprocessed food makes its way through the digestive track, and our mind gets a breather from the extreme stress and thoughts we put on it while we are awake. Basically, it restores our body to a full charge state; that includes the health of our immunity system. Physicians recommend 6.5 to 8 hours of sleep a night in order to maintain your overall physical and emotional well being.

Keep your Diet a Healthy One

We are all our own worst enemies, especially when it comes to high-fat and low nutritionally valued foods. Keeping your diet a healthy diet involves maintaining that provide your body with high volumes of fruit and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are the highest, most natural source of the necessary nutrients, vitamins and minerals our bodies need in order to build our immune systems. Other necessary nutrients like protein, which can help maintain a body’s physical well being and assist in repairing the immune system, can be found in poultry, grains, eggs, fish, and other meats.

Lower your Stress

It has been proven that people under stress are much more likely to fall ill to common viruses such as a cold. Those undergoing stress for long periods of a time, timeframes of over a month or longer, can have very heavy physical damage done to their immune systems. Children that undergo stress at a young age are likely to grow older with weak immune systems. Luckily, solutions in building positive stress, commonly known as eustress, are easy to find. Finding a hobby, be it by joining the American Contract Bridge League to play bridge and meet new people, working with your hands doing wood-working or some other relaxing activities like meditation or yoga can be very helpful in naturally building up a stronger immune system.

Building your immune system naturally doesn’t have to be a difficult task. It involves the proper intake of food and diet materials, as well as being able to manage the stress your body takes on. The proper road to a healthier immune system is dependent on how you take care of yourself.
