Anti-Oxidants and Their Role in Extending Your Life

The research has been done and it is proven by medical researchers that the use of anti-oxidants is a path you can take in order to “slow” the aging process. What is an anti -oxidant? Anti-oxidants are chemical and organic compounds that work to stop or slow the development of oxidation. Oxidation creates unbalanced oxidized particles know as free radicals. These free radicals are part of what makes our bodies age. Therefore, the intake of anti-oxidants is essential for those needing natural anti-aging techniques with very cost effective sources, such as many of the foods we eat every day.

Anti-oxidants are found in a majority of fruits and vegetables. Many of you may know of Vitamin C and A, as well as several other vitamins and minerals taught throughout our basic education. These vitamins are a plentiful source of anti-oxidants that can help in the anti-aging process. Also, carotenoids, the reason many fruits and vegetables are brightly colored, contain high volumes of anti-aging anti-oxidants.

Want to know what other anti-oxidants can help stop those extra wrinkles from forming? Here is a list of just some of the many anti-oxidants you should be consuming to slow the aging process, as well as help other functions of the body.

Vitamin A – Vitamin A provides benefits in that its anti-oxidants keep skin and mucus lining health in check. Vitamin A also provides stability to the immune system and eyes.

Vitamin B – There are several vitamin B mixes that can all create several different benefits to your body on top of slowing the aging of your body. Cell growth and division can be greatly boosted by vitamin B anti-oxidants, on top of maintaining the upkeep of your skin and muscles. Improvements in bodily systems such as your nervous and immune systems are noted.

Vitamin C – With just small doses of vitamin C, you can see anti-aging benefits as it is very potent to free radicals. Vitamin C also helps in the production of cellular power, collagen, and adrenaline as well as brain strength.

Vitamin D – Vitamin D has several anti-oxidative benefits. It is also known as that vitamin medical institutions like to refer to as the “bone builder.”

Vitamin E – Vitamin E is a pure anti-oxidative fighter in the fat cells of humans. It stops free radicals from oxidizing body fat. This can lower bad cholesterol which carries risks of artery closure and cardiovascular disease.

Alpha-lipoic Acid – On top of its anti-aging abilities, Alpha-lipoic acids help destroy risks of diabetes and brain diseases including Parkinson’s disease and epileptic seizures.

Carotenoids – The bright color of fruit developed by carotenoids don’t just make our food pretty. They can help in anti-aging as well as maintain eyesight and fight prostate and lung cancer.

Flavonoids/Bioflavonoids – Especially benefiting to your immune system, flavonoids and bioflavonoids carry anti-aging benefits. They also act similarly to carotenoids as they provide color to some of our favorite fruits and vegetables.

These anti-oxidants are proven to help slow a person’s aging, but they also carry several other positives as to why your body should absorb them. For those worried about their aging and developing a healthy body in other areas, depend on anti-oxidants to help you get there.
